Groundhog Day flows into parallel universes. What happens when you see the same scene, but slightly different? What if we go left, left, right, and then go back and go left, left, left? What if we go back a bunch of times to take the roads not travelled? Generation Jones borrows the "Detours" format from Chris George (iO, Chicago), to take our audience on a silly ride of new choices and idea mapping.
Generation Jones (formerly Cilantro) formed when some cast members at the Bridge Improv Theatre wanted to explore the Harold format. That structure wasn't quite clicking for them. Then, one night, they were short on players. A guest improviser from Chicago, Chris George, offered to play. In the green room, he said, "Want to try my format? It's called Detours!" The other players replied, "Sure!" The show was a hit, so the team decided to keep doing it.
